Housephotos.org http://housephotos.org/blog Just another WordPress weblog Thu, 29 Nov 2007 03:44:30 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.2.3 en It’s been a while http://housephotos.org/blog/?p=6 http://housephotos.org/blog/?p=6#comments Thu, 29 Nov 2007 03:44:30 +0000 Andy http://housephotos.org/blog/?p=6 Well, the project has had a minor setback.  While in Atlanta, GA a few weeks back my camera was stolen from my dads car.  It had 350 pictures that had not yet been stored in the database.  There is no need to worry about security - no house numbers were tied to the photos, and the spreadsheet containing the numbers for each picture was not even in the car.
As soon as my camera is  replaced this project will once again go underway and we will pick up where we left off.
Cheers,

Andy

New updates http://housephotos.org/blog/?p=4 http://housephotos.org/blog/?p=4#comments Mon, 17 Sep 2007 22:22:09 +0000 Andy http://housephotos.org/blog/?p=4 Hey everyone,

Just got in and collected roughly 350 more home photos.  I will be adding these to the database tonight so if you saw us take a picture of your house it should be in the search-able by tomorrow at the latest.  We had a good time, and only had one drawback that made us redo a road.  After gathering the photos we took a group trip to bojangles - I got a small fry and drink.

Next scheduled work day is Wednesday when we are planning to train a new apprentice.

Until next time,
Andy

Welcome to Housephotos.org http://housephotos.org/blog/?p=3 http://housephotos.org/blog/?p=3#comments Thu, 13 Sep 2007 01:55:26 +0000 Andy http://housephotos.org/blog/?p=3 Hello,

This is my first post on the official house photos blog. My name is Andy, and i’ll explain a little bit of how this blog will work. Members of the street team will post blogs here related to the site, so be sure to check the user of the post to see who wrote it. Here you will find funny stories, interesting ideas, and random thoughts from our crew.

I will give you a little bit of statistics about our progress thus far.. It’s been a very hectic week to say the least, so I will attempt to catch you up.

FRIDAY (9/8/07) We do a dry run, having no idea what to expect, and wind up with 120 documented homes. This day taught us alot about the procedure that we will be working with during the project.

MONDAY (9/10/07) Press release was distributed through PRWeb. This release can be found here.
Release was picked up by Yahoo! News and other news sites.

TUESDAY (9/11/07) An article was published at Associated Content about the website. This article can be found here.

WEDNESDAY (9/12/07) Street team departed at 4:00 PM with a goal of 300 more documented homes. This goal as completed by 5:45.
Statesville Record & Landmark was informed of the press release.

Again, thanks to everyone for their support. Currently we have almost 500 homes in the database. This database is live and we update it nightly.

Cheers,
Andy
Project Director
